What is the Course Catalog?
A course catalog is a large printed book listing all the Programs of Study (Degrees and Certificates) which are offered by the college. It lists all classes required to earn each degree or certificate, and the courses that the college is approved to offer to its students in each area of study. A student might use the course catalog to find out all of the classes offered on a general topic (example: 'statistics') even if the class is not being taught that quarter.
Much of the information in the course catalog is provided on the North Seattle Community College website. If you are looking for updated certificate and degree information, see the Programs of Study section.

District Catalog
North Seattle Community College is a member of the Seattle Community College District. Our course catalog is published as a district. You can find copies of the printed course catalog in most public libraries, and in many college and high school reference areas. You can also search through an online version of the course catalog on the Seattle Community College District website. You can search programs and courses for the entire district, or choose 'North' from the first drop-down menu to only search for courses offered at the North Seattle campus.

What is a Class Schedule?
A class schedule is published each quarter. It lists the individual classes that are taught for the quarter along with the times and dates the classes are offered. Students use the class schedule to determine what classes are available the next quarter, and to choose classes to register for. The class schedule also contains an academic calendar for the quarter and other information specific for that quarter, such as special events, and a finals schedule.

Course Descriptions
Up-to-date course descriptions are available for required courses in each program under the Programs of Study section of the site.

The district web site also keeps a simple description for all courses in the the online District Course Catalog.

Course descriptions are available in the quarterly Class Schedule for courses offered in the current and upcoming academic quarters, but only for classes offered during that quarter.
