Pre-College Math is for students who have taken less than 3 years of math in high school or need a refresher before entering college-level mathematics. Students who are planning to earn a college transfer degree should take a math placement test or if they have taken previous college math classes they should meet with an advisor. Students pursuing other programs of study, should check with their department or professional/technical advisor to determine their math requirements.

Sequence of Classes
Students are placed into a pre-college math class based on the results of the
Math Placement test. The placement test is a required step after applying to
the college. Students will then progress through one of 4 sequences of classes
based upon academic advising until they satisfactorily complete Intermediate
Algebra or MATH100.
Completing Pre-College Math
After satisfactory completion of the pre-college level classes or completion
of the math placement test, students can be placed in college-level math courses.
The math placement test may be taken once every 3 months. College-level math
courses are numbered 100 and above. See College-level
Math for more information.
