Worker Retraining
The Worker Retraining Program is is a package of services, opportunities, and specialized instructional programs designed for students who are receiving (or who have exhausted) unemployment insurance benefits and dislocated workers to help them return to work as soon as possible. Staff can provide assistance in obtaining help under TAA, NAFTA, CAT, TB, and TCA programs. The Program offers eligible students an opportunity to pursue new careers or to enhance their skills. The Program can pay for tuition, books, fees, tutoring, transportation, and childcare and provide academic and career counseling.
Weekly orientations are held on Tuesdays at 2:30pm in the College Center Building, Room 3449. Detailed information is available from the Worker Retraining section.

Workfirst
The WorkFirst Program is for students who are receiving Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF) and low-income working parents, and is designed to help students gain the skills necessary to obtain employment, higher wages, or advancement in the workplace. The Program offers eligible parents with assistance in tuition, fees, books, tutoring and work-study positions.

I-BEST
Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) pairs English as a second language (ESL) and/or adult basic education (ABE) instructors and professional-technical instructors in the classroom to concurrently provide students with literacy education and workforce skills. Classes are in programs that build toward degrees and/or certificates and prepare students for employment. I-BEST programs are to be based on currently-approved professional-technical programs that extend to at least one year of college-level training and incorporate employment stop-in and stop-out (exit) points as part of an approved professional-technical certificate or associate degree program, or result in immediate high wage employment.

Limited English Proficiency Pathway
The Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Pathway Program provides specialized services to refugees and immigrants with limited English skills to increase their English and employability skills. LEP Pathway parents receive TANF. The Program offers eligible parents assistance with tuition, fees, books, tutoring, work-study, and work experience positions.

Opportunity Scholarship Grant
The Opportunity Scholarship Grant Program provides educational access and support for low-income adults to progress to their educational tipping point of 45 college credits—and beyond—in high-wage, high-demand careers. Reaching the tipping point allows the least prepared individuals to increase job skills and knowledge through career pathways. Eligible students may receive funds to cover tuition, fees, and up to $1,000 for books and supplies for 45 college credits. Support services such as tutoring, career advising, college success classes, emergency child care, and emergency transportation are also part of the Opportunity Grant program.

Food Stamp Employment & Training
The Food Stamp Employment & Training Program assists Food Stamp recipients who have been assessed as needing basic education, high school, GED/ABE, ESL or vocational training in order to increase their opportunities for employment. All Food Stamp recipients not receiving TANF are eligible for the Food Stamp Employment and Training Program. These individuals may be unemployed or surviving on a low-income full-time or part-time job. To receive Basic Food, some people must register for work and participate in the Food Stamp Employment and Training Program. The Program offers eligible parents with assistance in tuition, fees, books, tutoring, and transportation.

Career Services
Career Services offers students and other members of the community who wish to explore careers, identify a career path, improve their job search skills or find internships and/or permanent employment. The office provides individual career advising and workshops, facilitates an annual career fair, and sponsors on-campus employer visits and other special career-related activities.

Internships are a critical aspect of each student's education. The purpose of the internship program is to provide students with assistance and the hands-on experience they need to successfully transition into their new career. Internships provide employers with a highly effective and low-cost recruiting service. Everybody wins with internships.

Financial Aid
The Financial Aid office provides information on eligibility, types of aid available, and policies for federal, state and institutional programs. Staff can assist you in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and answer questions about the application process and aid programs. Help with tuition authorizations, book requisitions, and check vouchers is also available specifically for WorkSource members.

Veterans Office
The Office of Veteran's Affairs serves veterans, reservists, active duty personnel and eligible family members who receive Veteran's Administration education benefits, and can provide counseling and referrals for all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Disability Services
The Disability Services office facilitates physical and programmatic access to students with disabilities, and has an extensive list of campus and community resources available for students with disabilities. They will make referrals as appropriate.
